What you get
- Change the destination without reprinting. The code on the poster stays the same; you move its target from your account, in seconds.
- A short link of your own. Codes live on
yqr.ro, our dedicated redirect domain:yqr.ro/your-name, with an optional page at the end. You choose the name. - Aggregate statistics. Total scans, unique scans and the top location — no tracking of individuals, no IP addresses stored.
- Checked destinations. Every address goes through a security scanner before it goes live, so that yqr.ro does not become a phishing channel.
- Full customisation. The same generator as for static codes: colours, logo, frame with text, PNG and SVG.
How it works, in 3 steps
- Open the “Dynamic” tab in the generator — we suggest a short link on yqr.ro, which you can customise, and you type where people who scan should land.
- Customise it and press “Download QR code” — only then do we create the link and check its destination. You download PNG or SVG and print it with confidence.
- Keep it with a free account — without an account the code is active for 24 hours. With an account it stays permanently, you change its destination anytime and you see the statistics.
Standard and Portable
There are two tiers, and the difference between them is exactly one thing: who owns the domain that gets printed.
- Standard — free and available now. The link is
yqr.ro/your-name: short, ready instantly, nothing to configure. - Portable — in the works. The link lives on a domain bought for you, which stays yours. If you leave, codes already printed keep working, because the address inside them does not depend on us.
Where portability ends
At almost every platform, dynamic codes are the door that locks behind you: once you have printed, any move means reprinting. We build the opposite way — but we tell you exactly how far that goes today.
- What you always get: the portability kit, downloadable from your account — your redirects in JSON, ready-made configuration files for Vercel, Netlify and Apache, plus the archive of your QR codes. Nothing is locked at our end and nothing has to be requested through support.
- What you cannot take with you, on Standard: the printed address. It is on yqr.ro, our domain — so codes already printed stay tied to us. The kit tells you where each one pointed, but it cannot move a printed code to another address.
- How it is fully solved: with Portable, where the domain in your printed codes is yours from the start. That tier is in the works; in the generator you can ask to be notified when it lands.

Frequently asked questions
- How much do dynamic QR codes cost?
- Nothing. They are free, with no trial period and no subscription appearing later. There are reasonable anti-abuse limits: a maximum of 10 codes per account and a maximum of 10 destination changes per day — plenty for a small business, far too little for a spammer.
- What do I need to get started?
- Nothing at all for the first code: you generate it straight from the “Dynamic” tab of the generator, without an account, and it stays active for 24 hours. To keep it permanently, change its destination and see the statistics, you create a free account — it only needs an email address, no password: you get an access link every time you sign in.
- What address does my dynamic code have?
- A short link on yqr.ro, our domain dedicated exclusively to redirects: yqr.ro/your-name, with an optional second segment for a page (yqr.ro/your-name/menu). You pick the name, if it is free. The link is deliberately short: the shorter it is, the fewer modules the QR code has, and the easier it scans from a distance or printed small.
- Does the printed code keep working when I change the destination?
- Yes, that is exactly the point. On the poster the code stays unchanged — it contains the yqr.ro link. From your account you only change the target it redirects to, and the change is live within seconds, for every code already printed.
- What happens if I want to move to another provider?
- We give you the full map: the portability kit is an archive with your redirects in JSON, plus ready-made configuration files for Vercel, Netlify and Apache, and the archive of your QR codes. But we say it plainly — on the Standard tier, the printed address is yqr.ro, which is ours: you can rebuild the redirects anywhere, but codes already printed stay tied to yqr.ro. Full portability, with the printed address on your own domain, comes with the Portable tier.
- What scan statistics do I see?
- Total scans, the number of unique scans and the top location — strictly aggregated. We do not store IP addresses, we do not keep the raw user agent and we do not build individual profiles, so it is not possible to reconstruct who scanned.
- Can I customise how the dynamic code looks?
- Yes, with the same generator as for static codes: colours, gradient, module and eye shapes, a logo in the centre, a frame with text. You download PNG for online use or vector SVG for print.
